A message from Circle of Friends for the Dying …
Our mission has always been to create a place and circle of support for people at the end of life. The dream was to begin renovations on a house in Kingston this past May, 2020. CFD is also committed to creating a space wherein we can embrace impermanence as a natural part of life. On March 26th, the CFD Board of Directors reviewed the data related to the Corona virus, and out of compassion and concern for the safety of our volunteers, supporters, and tenants, voted to postpone the renovations.
But the mission to bring compassionate, competent, end-of-life care to individuals and their families moves forward. To provide a circle of support to community members in need, plans are underway for greater educational and information outreach – much of which can be done online through Zoom, and Facebook. We are also planning safe outdoor events.
Our commitment is to strengthen the offerings of death literacy education, preparedness resources, and strategic partnerships. Stay tuned for news of these developments. And please contact us if you have any questions, concerns, want to join our team, or have any suggestions!
We thank you for your ongoing, generous support.
